After the house was packed up, we went to France for one last weekend in the Alsace region. It has been one of our favorite places to go. It was our first holiday after Sylvie was born and was our last before we left.
We rented a small apartment in Kayserberg where we stayed with Campbell's parents. As always, we started with some regional wine, french cheese, and pate.
And the region has some great wine and lovely little stores that we visited again.
And there is some beautiful pottery. I had already bought some on our last trip....otherwise I would have taken some of this home.
Back at our favorite centuries old fountain. The kids love playing in this.
And they have really beautiful crafts and christmas ornaments. I have copied some already so we can have moments to remember every year.
And we had wonderful time at our local playground.
The castle in Kayserberg and the vineyards on the hills. Great little walk and place to play just steps away from the apartment.
And of course another great bakery. Our daily fix.
And another day in Riquiwir (can't remember how to spell it). It is one of our favorite towns and has a really big Christmas store. The kids love walking thru and seeing all the decorations and trees.
Good bye France! We love all our adventures that we had and will miss all the lovely baked goods, wine, stinky cheese, and pate. There was not enough time to see all the beautiful places and we will have to visit again to see them. So happy we were able to take our lovely family there.
