October

October was here and we started enjoying all the fall activities.  We got lots of pumpkins from various places and the kids were loving the new traditions of carving pumpkins and halloween.

We met up with John, Katie, and toddler Jack at Remlinger Farms.  It was super fun and we had a good time with them.

Too many pumpkins to carve!

Visiting Gasworks Park

Visting the Ballard Locks

Riding thru the city on our Dutch bikes.  It was great to be able to take the kids out and peddle along the lake.  Not as easy or flat as Holland but it is ok.

And Archie picked out his halloween costume.  He actually wanted to wear it which was a first.  Up until now, he hasn't liked the idea of being in costumes or other people in costumes.  So we were cautiously optimistic that Halloween would be a good one this year!

Fall and School Starts

The kids started full time preschool in August at their new school, Fairview Christian School.  It is in an old Seattle school building with big halls and windows.  The teachers and staff are so nice an caring.  It is a real school setting and much more like their Breda school.  The instantly loved it and we were so happy with the change. The school is near our house and the kids were finally getting settled.

First day of school sitting on the entry stairs.  What big kids we have!  All grown up.

Trying on my hardhat.  We rode our bikes past the UW site where I am working on a Nano Research Building.  It was under construction and the diggers were out.  Archie   now thinks that I drive diggers for work.  I try to explain that I don't but he doesn't agree.  So I let him think that.  He thinks my job is cool.  I will let him think that for as long as he wants.

Archie running around at Seattle Center.  Still loves to run.

Trying on my safety glasses....upside down.

Oh our sweet girl showing her spirit!

We went to Whidbey Island for a day trip.  The weather was gorgeous and we had good time checking out Coupville.

Archie on his first field trip to the pumpkin patch.  Campbell had a flexible work schedule and was able to many of these trips.  The boy in the back is Archie's buddy Kyle.  We get along well with his parents and they are becoming good friends of ours.

Archie's classmates.  They are a super sweet group of kids.  One friend Naya was one of the PEPS babies from when Archie was born.

Our cute kiddos on their way to school, backpacks and all.  Too cute for words.  I am so proud of our little kids.  They have started to make friends and enjoy our Seattle life.

First school photo!  SMILE!!!

Working on smiling at the same time.  Always a challenge.

No longer a toddler.  She is a preschooler now.  Our beautiful, fiery little girl.

A Visit to the Lake

We headed to the Lake for Labor Day weekend.  The lake was cooler and weather a little gray but we had a nice time seeing the Darlings and Grandparents.  The pass had a nice rainbow for the drive over.

Going for a boat ride

Too cold to swim so we went to Harrison for ice cream.  It started pouring rain on the ride back!  All the adults were in giggles trying to see our way back as the poor kids were miserably cold under their blankets.  Parenting Fail.

Watching movies on the couch with cousins.  Dejavu

Ben and Cindy and Dashiel and Oren were at the lake too.  Great time to see all the cousins.
